We make citations and write bibliographic references for the books and articles that we use in our research papers in order to give credit to the authors and to avoid plagiarism. Knowing just how to cite a source can be confusing. Certainly all the different ways of citing sources must have been invented to drive students crazy, right?

How is your procrastination going? Oh, I meant to ask how your research project is going? If you feel confused about your research assignments, that’s normal. The library's services and the Writing Center staff are here to help you face your research and writing obstacles.

How do professors become knowledgeable experts in their subject areas? Part of the answer is that they have been involved in many scholarly conversations. These conversations take place in classrooms, offices, hallways, conferences, articles and books.
